Greetings! I'm Jumai Gukas, though my friends, colleagues, and the cherished individuals we serve simply call me Jay. My journey into the world of care has been driven by a profound passion for connecting with people, and it's this connection that has been the guiding force throughout my career in Social Care and Social Housing. Over the past two decades, I've worked with various organizations in Surrey, offering quality home healthcare services, caring home support, and healthcare services to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds to improve their health, home life, and overall well-being.
The inception of Ardent Care Connect Services represents a natural progression, drawing from the wealth of experience and knowledge I've gained over the years, both professionally and personally. My true passion lies in supporting and caring for our service users and my dedicated team of caregivers. Knowing that I can make a difference in their lives brings me immense joy.
The journey hasn't always been smooth sailing. To better serve, I embarked on additional training and development courses to acquire the knowledge needed to excel in this field. I've connected with experienced individuals who have walked this path before me, learning something new every day. I've had the privilege of meeting wonderful people, both among my team and our service users, but I've also faced challenging situations that left me feeling low and isolated. Yet, it's the unwavering passion to create a positive impact in the lives of others that fuels me to rise and embrace each new day.

Connecting with new clients is always an exhilarating experience. It signifies the start of a new journey and represents growth for our business, which is our ultimate goal. I approach each new connection with joy, striving to enhance their situations, whatever they may be. When your workplace is people's homes and their daily lives, it can't be mechanical. Our caregivers build relationships founded on trust, ensuring that service users feel safe, well-cared for, and confident that we always have their best interests at heart.
Recruitment at Team Ardent is an essential process. Ensuring we have the right individuals on board who align with our core values of respect, dignity, and kindness is paramount. We leave no stone unturned in our recruitment procedures, from DBS checks to references. We provide comprehensive training and competitive wages to foster staff satisfaction and maintain consistency in our services. I always emphasize to new service users the importance of treating caregivers with the same respect, dignity, and kindness we hold dear.
Personal touch moments are aplenty in my role, from painting a service user's toes with bright and bold colors to bring a youthful smile to their face, to offering comfort when they reminisce about loved ones who have passed, to simply being a listening ear when needed. No two days are the same, making the work we do uniquely interesting.
Engaging with local communities is a priority for us. We believe in introducing ourselves, building relationships, and getting to know the people and the communities where we provide our services. Our most recent endeavor was participating in the annual Quality Street Fair in Merstham, and we are proud supporters of The London Air Ambulance Charity.
The future vision for Ardent Care Connect Services is clear - to continue as a service that provides quality home care services and transforms lives. We hope to welcome more service users through our doors, building relationships and expanding our service to touch even more lives.
Beyond my professional life, I am a joyful individual, a wife, and a mother who revels in traveling and savoring diverse cuisines. My downtime is spent watching movies, immersing myself in music, enjoying theatre performances, and attending music concerts. I cherish the company of my family and friends, and I relish moments filled with laughter. Life is too precious not to enjoy!
